September Issue
Last month we learned the different ways that God speaks to His children. We discovered through the lives of men like Gideon, Elijah, Peter and Joseph, that God will use unique and amazing ways to speak to us. We also learned from Jonah that when He speaks, it is for others. We need to be obedient listeners because His message is important.
This month we are learning who God says we are. We live in a world that is trying to confuse identity, remove identity, or even steal identity. Who God is to us and who God says we are, are the two most important things about us. When we learn to trust in whose we are, it makes it easier to trust in who He says we are.
We are going to look at some heroes in the Bible who God called to a purpose they never would have imagined on their own. But first we are going to start with the biggest villain of all, Satan. We’ll crack “the case of attempted identity theft” and how this defeated foe has been trying to steal identities of believers everywhere ever since.
We will revisit Gideon and see how God’s call on His life changed him from a cowering wheat thresher to a mighty warrior and eventual judge of Israel. Then we will watch how a shepherd boy, who didn’t even get invited to his own coronation party, become king of Israel because God had a big plan.
Finally, we will discover that God’s plans for us are awesome and perfect even when we are not. When we don’t get it right, God will show us a better direction and might even give us a new name along with our new destiny just as He did with Saul.
God calls us His children. He calls us beloved. Let’s discover all the ways that we can walk in our God given identity and foil Satan’s identity theft schemes.
“See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!” 1 John 3:1A – NLT
New School Year, New… Shew 😩
It’s that time of year again! School is back in full swing and it’s time for new classes, new schedules, and new friends.
Sometimes all this “new” can feel overwhelming and there might be moments, especially with our littlest learners, that will try your patience and stretch your santiy.
As we walk together through the changing seasons, remember that God will give us peace in the storm and calm in the chaos. His Word promises “I will never leave you or forsake you.” And that “His grace is sufficient.” All you have to do is ask and receive the gift He wants to give you.
Take some time today and let your heart refocus on His good plans for you. You might feel out of sorts as life settles into this new rhythm, but you can trust His plans are good and you are never alone.
Memory Verse Fun!
This month’s power verse is 1 John 3:1a, “See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!”
To encourage the kids to really begin hiding these scriptures in their hearts as it says in the Psalms, we have started offering small prizes or candies for scripture memory. Any child who can say their verse by the end of the month will be able to pick a small prize out of the prize box. All those who try will be able to receive a small candy, and extra help will be given to our littlest learners even if their memorization is a little off .
Our heart is for every child to begin to let God’s Word take up residence in their hearts. As life gets busy and sometimes hard, our hope is that these verses will help them connect to God’s truth through it all. We encourage you to take time to help your children memorize these verses. You never know when you might find yourself needing their truths as well.

Our church is having a Fall Fun Fest after service. There will be a catered meal, bounce houses for the kids, a dunk tank, and a whole lot of fall fun! This is a great opportunity to invite friends and family who don’t have a church home to come experience what makes our church so special.

Come Celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles at the Barker Family Farm!
This is a special time where we eat a meal, sing around a campfire, and just take some time out to remember this special time when God came to “tabernacle” with us. Last year we had over fifty come out to the farm to celebrate. Twenty also chose to spend the night out with us as well. Like last year, this is also an overnight event.
Bring your tent or even your camper for a fun night of fellowship and worship. We even provide a yummy breakfast in the morning! This is a great experience for kids and adults alike. We hope you will join us as we celebrate one of God’s appointed feasts.
